Kerry's Driving Lessons

Keeping Safe

The COVID 19 pandemic, has changed the way we live our lives, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. We are now adding extra precautionary measures to the way we conduct our lessons and tests, as the safety of our pupils, instructors, and examiners is our number one priority.

We are currently following Government and Public Health England guidelines, to help prevent the spread of COVID 19.

We have put the following measures in place, to keep our pupils, instructors, and examiners as safe as possible.

Safety Advice and Measures…

  1. We can assure you, our vehicles will be regularly cleaned with antibacterial wipes, both at the start and end of each lesson or test. Some of the key places will include; the car keys, door handles, seat belt, seat belt fastener, seat height adjuster, steering wheel and steering wheel adjuster, gear lever, centre mirror, parking brake, indicators, wiper stalk, light controls, windows and side mirror controls, and heating controls, to main but a few.
  2. We will ask all pupils to let us know if they feel unwell, and we will ask what their symptoms are. We will also ask, if the pupil has been in contact with anyone showing symptoms of the virus within 14 days. If a pupil is showing symptoms or has been in contact with anyone with symptoms within 14 days, then the lesson will need to be cancelled.
  3. We will ask you to wash your hands, for 20 seconds, using the hand sanitiser provided, before you enter the car.
  4. We may check your temperature, using an infrared thermometer, which just needs to be pointed at your forehead.
  5. We will be asking all pupils and instructors to wear some sort of face covering. We have both masks and visors available, if you do not have a face covering of your own.
  6. We ask that pupils and instructors wear suitable clothing, that covers as much of them as possible.
  7. We shall be keeping the windows slightly open on all lessons, for ventilation.
  8. We have disposable gloves available, should our pupils feel more comfortable with gloves on.
  9. If you cough or sneeze, we will ask that you cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a tissue, and not your hands.

These measures have been put in place to reassure all our pupils, instructors, and examiners that we are taking as many steps as possible to keep everyone safe, and to help stop the spread of COVID 19.

As guidance changes, we may need to review our procedures.

Stay safe everyone.
